Unless you are a medical professional such as a Doctor, nurse or paramedic, you can become a first aid trainer by getting your own First Aid certificate
Experience Needed
We do recommend that you have substantial experience in the medical field to teach first aid however this is not a requirement. Experience can be gained by being a first aider at work, volunteering or simply shadowing other qualified first aid trainers. As we’ve all been taught, we gain experience by doing so you can get more experience and improve your teaching for each course that you deliver.
Millie was a first aid trainer who wanted to share her knowledge with others. She had been teaching classes and volunteering at the hospital for a while now, but she wasn't satisfied. One day, Millie went on a trip to Africa and helped some people in need of medical attention. It was then that she realised that there are many more people out there who needed help than just those in her local community. When she returned home, Millie decided it would be best if she became an instructor so that she could teach as many people as possible about how to save lives in emergencies.
Millie joined the Education and Training Academy to get her teaching qualifications and completed the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. She is now working as a Paramedic at the Eastbourne District General Hospital and runs private first aid courses in her spare time.

Wesley had a long career in the army. He knew how to save lives and was passionate about teaching others his skills. When he left the army, he decided to teach what he knows best: first aid. Wesley completed both the Level 3 Award in Education and Training and the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement with the Education and Training Academy and instantly found work with multiple companies in Kent and Sussex teaching first aid and CPR.
Soon after, Wesley decided to set up his own first aid company and is now delivering first aid, FREC and FPOS around the Country working with different clients. Wesley is currently enrolled on the Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance Processes and Practices and is looking to reduce his travel and spend more time with his family.

Train the Trainer courses are not recognised!!!
That's right 'Train the Trainer' courses are not recognised outside of the organsiation that delivers the course therefore once you've paid your well-earned money, its not going to be any use to you in the real world to become a trainer. Only courses recognsied by the Governing Body Ofqual are recognised nationally and internationally. You cannot simply take a 'Train the Trainer' course and be accepted with open arms wherever you go.
So Why is Our Course labelled as 'Train the Trainer'?
Its because most people recognise that a 'Train the Trainer' is the course that you need. These courses are useful as they help you develop your teaching skills but the only courses that are recognised everywhere are Ofqual registered Education and Training qualifications and the Assessor qualifications. This means there is a no subject-specific trainer course. You are expected to have your subject knoweldge and expertise and all you need is a Education and Training or Assesssor qualficiation and this means that your teaching status will be recognised around the globe meaning that you do not have to take any other courses. These courses are generic and cater for any subject, you are learning to be a teacher and assessor rather than learning about your subject which you should already have. So which one do you need?
Which course do I actually need?
Any training provider would be foolish to suggest a course for you without hearing about your goals and objectives otherwise they are guessing. We can predict with 90% accuracy on which course is most suitable but the reality is that you may want to teach a wider variety of subjects, teach at a different level or teach in a different environment. Everyone is different. Therefore we have created a quiz to determine which course is most suitable for you but you really need to talk to us before we can 100% be sure that we have set you on the right path. We don't want you wasting time and money on courses that you don't actually want or need. and thats why we created this quiz.
Take our Quiz and find out which course you need. AND WE'LL SEND YOU A DISCOUNT CODE!!!
Why I Became a First Aid Instructor
'I was already a trained teacher and spent years dealing with minor sports injuries and it made clear financial sense to add first aid training to my portfolio. It even helps with deal with any scrape my children get in.'
Matthew Reynolds
'I became a first aid trainer because I wanted to be able to help people in need. I like being able to use my knowledge of CPR and other life saving techniques on people who might not have the chance if it weren't for me.'
Sarah Howard
'I loved the idea of being a first aid trainer because I like to help people. The best part is that it's not just limited to my own family and friends but also strangers too. It is an honour to teach other people what I know about first-aid so they can have the skills if needed in case something happens.'

Having some previous teaching experience, but lacking the qualification I needed to start training formally accredited courses, I completed the Level 3 Award in Education and Training with Matt and the Education and Training Academy. From the beginning, the expectations needed to complete the qualification were laid out... brilliantly in the academy's resources, which really made the process of completing the portfolio as clear as possible. The taught days of the course were a really enjoyable experience, students came from a range of backgrounds and the trainer ensured everyone felt involved and able to share their experiences. Many of the learning methods discussed on the course were clearly demonstrated and we had some great group discussions which left me reflecting on new ways of improving my own teaching approaches. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to complete their Level 3 AET.read more

I have completed the education and training level 3 courses.I highly recommend this academy as it was so easy and flexible to complete the required course work. Everything was online and accessible. I felt I could contact an ask for help if there was something I didn’t understand.
I completed the Level 3 Award in Education and Teaching under the tutelage of Matt. I've been looking to achieve this formal training qualification as a means of being able to teach more subjects (in my case first aid) to a higher standard, and I'm really pleased with the training I received. Our class took part in a... series of group video seminars, were provided with a workbook to complete, alongside pre-recorded lectures and online quizzes and slides to work through. I returned a portfolio of essays, and took part in a Microteach assessment with my class. I'm really delighted with the training I received, and I'm looking forward to being able to teach new subjects, and award nationally recognised first aid qualifications, thanks to the course I've completed.read more
I recently completed the Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment with the Education and Training Academy. I decided to do the course to help me in my understanding of assessments; their structure, standards and required evidence for Apprenticeship learners. I have recently become a... trainer for an apprenticeship course and this assessment course has given me a fuller understanding of the whole process. I believe it has helped me to better support learners and guide them in building their evidence to go towards their end point assessments.I attended the virtual sessions with Matt which consisted of 2 days training. The timing was flexible enough for me to easily work on it around my other commitments. I found the sessions to be welcoming and interactive. Matt is a really knowledgeable trainer and took an interest in each person’s background and experience in order to use relevant examples to help us all relate to the material more easily. I found the breadth of material supplied to be well put together and really useful; it helped me to absorb the information more easily and to build my portfolio in preparation for assessment. The communication throughout was great and Matt was really supportive and responsive when I needed help. Thanks so much Matt!read more
I have just completed the online course with Matt at the Academy. I needed this qualification as I had previously completed the PTTLS course but needed the extra assessor’s element to allow me as a first aid instructor to assess and certify students. I am also working to become my own centre for the awarding body, so this... qualification really hit the spot. The online learning that Matt provided was fantastic, and it allowed me to learn at my own pace, with lots of extra support available both in the classroom and afterwards via online chat or email. All teaching sessions were recorded, which really helped me go over the areas that I needed to re-examine, and I found this a real help. The environment created by Matt put all the learners at ease, which made for a more productive learning experience. He was always on hand to offer support, which is often the greatest drawback of online learning. Matt bridged this gap seamlessly. This online learning and support then allowed me to complete the practical elements at my place of work by assessing my peers in the workplace. I got the opportunity to put the skills learnt into practice, such as formulating assessment methods and strategies. The practical elements of the course gave me a great understanding of the assessment process, it has really improved my knowledge and understanding in this field, and now I can provide a better service to my learners moving forward with my business.I would highly recommend using Matt as your next training provider. You will not be disappointed; his passion and experience will enrich your learning journey.read more
